Herman Miller Mirra 1, Embody, Formway Life and Haworth Zody Side Activated Gas Lift are side activated by a wire rather than a button at the top. These are a direct replacement and do not require a conversion kit.

Please be aware that you will also see a wire for top-activated gas lifts on Aeron Chairs. In that case, the chair’s height adjustment lever pulls a wire that depresses the gas lift from the *top*. You can find genuine Aeron top-activated gas lifts here.

**If you have difficulty removing your existing gas lift from the 5 star base, simply re-use your existing gas lift’s outer column.
