Herman Miller Aeron Classic Replacement Gas Lift – Side Activated

HEAVY DUTY two-stage replacement gas lift for Herman Miller Aeron Classic chairs manufactured between 1996 and 2012 that are side activated by a wire rather than a button at the top.

Suits size A, B and C Classic Aeron chairs with SIDE ACTIVATED gas lifts. Also suitable as a replacement for the Knoll Life Chair with side-activation (although the colour is not silver).

Please be aware that you will also see a wire for top-activated gas lifts on Aeron Chairs. In that case, the chair’s height adjustment lever pulls a wire that depresses the gas lift from the *top*. You can find genuine Aeron top-activated gas lifts here.

IMPORTANT: You should always check which gas lift version you have by removing the plastic mechanism cover on your Aeron. See below for how to check.

HOW TO CHECK IF YOUR HERMAN MILLER AERON IS SIDE-ACTIVATED: The video below shows how a side-activated gas lift works on a Classic Aeron Chair. In the case of a Side-Activated Gas Lift, the lever on the top of your gas lift is pulled horizontally via a cable. Note: The plastic mechanism cover has been removed in this video for ease of viewing and the camera is looking down, directly of the top of the gas lift.
